The MacLaren Art Centre is a not-for-profit art gallery in
the heart of Barrie, Ontario, whose mission is to intergrate
the visual arts and culture within our community and region.
The MacLaren Art Centre's permancent collection situates regional
art practices within a national context. Housed in the former
Carnegie Library with extensive additions by architect Siamak
Hariri completed in 2001, the facility includes three main
galleries, storage vaults, a prints and drawings rooms, cafe

sixteen-acre park on the banks of the Grand River, Glenhyrst
Art Gallery of Brant was established in 1958 to provide a
programme that would stimulate an interest in and appreciation

19th-century artist Robert Reginald Whale and his descendants,
contemporary works of art on paper by national and international

The BAC was formed through a grassroots
process by several active visual arts co-operatives and guilds
in the Burlington region. Our building was opened in 1978
as a facility for these groups to develop dedicated studios
with specialized equipment in the areas of photography, handweaving
and spinning, sculpture and woodcarving, ceramics, fine arts,
and hooking craft. The role of the Centre quickly expanded
to include that of a public art gallery with exhibitions,
publications, a unique collection of contemporary Canadian
ceramic art, and educational programs. Incorporated in April,
1975, the Burlington Art Centre champions the role and value
of art in life.

Established in 1977, Cambridge Galleries
comprises exhibition spaces at the Queen's Square and Preston

The Haliburton Sculpture Forest,

The Art Gallery of Hamilton reopened
in the Spring of 2005 after extensive renovations resulting
in a golden steel cladding, state-of-the-art climate control,
a multi-purpose pavilion, enclosed sculpture atrium, newly
landscaped sculpture court, a welcoming and more visible front
entrance and an increase of 20% in exhibition space. Founded
in 1914, the AGH is Ontario's second-largest public art gallery
in terms of exhibition space (and Canada's ninth) and owns
one of the finest collections in the country. The Art Gallery
of Hamilton has three fundamental collecting and programming
strengths - nineteenth-century European, Historical Canadian,
and Contemporary Canadian Art.

The mission of the Art Gallery of
Mississauga is to promote awareness and appreciation of the
visual arts through the operation, development and growth
of a public, not-for-profit art gallery. The Art Gallery of
Mississauga is housed on the main floor, southeast wing of

the Gallery totals over 3700 square feet, plus an outdoor

Founded in 1979, the Niagara Falls
Art Gallery will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2004.
We house the William Kurelek Art Collection, which includes
the artist's personal papers and library. Also part of the
Gallery's permanent collection is the John Burtniak Niagara
Collection of historical Niagara Falls works of art from the
1700s to the 1950s. The Niagara Falls Art Gallery is involved
in community arts development throughout the Niagara Region

Founded in 1992, the Carleton University
Art Gallery aims to serve as a forum for the investigation
of visual art in its aesthetic, historical, and cultural contexts.

The Ottawa Art Gallery is an independent,
non-profit public art gallery committed to the acquisition,

The Timmins Museum was built in
1975 as a national exhibition centre. A community museum was
added to the facility in 1979.The Centre’s mandate is

Thunder Bay Art Gallery, the only
public art gallery between Sault Ste. Marie and Winnipeg,
opened in 1976 as a National Exhibition Centre. In 1982, the
facility and mandate expanded and a concentration on contemporary
First Nations art began. Today the Gallery exhibits work by
artists from Northwestern Ontario through its Regional Artists
Series, and hosts national and international travelling exhibitions.

Arts Etobicoke was founded in 1973 to provide a united voice for the local arts
community. Today, our mission is to engage the people of West Toronto with the arts and artists in their community.
To achieve this goal, we provide programs and servies designed to increase the accessibility of the arts, reach
and involve special and diverse audiences, create broad community awareness of local arts orgranizations and artists
and develope partnerships and networks to sustain local arts activities.
Arts Etobicoke currently serves a membership of 50 community-based arts organizations from all arts disciplines, as well
as 200 individual members, 22 Scholarship recipients, over 60 artists and clients in the Art Rental service, thousands of
students in our Arts Education programs and numerous project partners. Arts Etobicoke is an incorporated not-for-profit
arts council managed and governed by a 15-member volunteer Board of Directors from business, the arts and the community.

RGD Ontario is the professional Association representing graphic designers in Ontario. The Association was given the mandate by the Provincial government to bestow the professional designation Registered Graphic Designer (R.G.D.) on designers who meet the Association's rigorous standards of competency. R.G.D.s must pass an exam to demonstrate they are ethical, professional and knowledgeable. RGD Ontario's programming includes the annual DesignThinkers conference, an annual exhibition called Design at Work and an annual student awards program.

Discover the treasures of North America's charming and surprising shoe museum. Hundreds of shoes (from a collection numbering over 10,000) are on exhibit in architect Raymond Moriyama's award-winning four-storey structure.
The Museum celebrates the style and function of footwear in four impressive galleries. Footwear on display ranges from Chinese bound foot shoes and ancient Egyptian sandals to chestnut-crushing clogs and glamourous platforms. Over 4,500 years of history and a collection of 20th-century celebrity shoes are reflected in the semi-permanent exhibition, All About Shoes. Three other galleries feature changing exhibitions, so there's always something new to see.

The main focus of the Centre for
Contemporary Canadian Art is the development of the Canadian
Art Database (www.ccca.ca),
an ever-growing, well-enabled database of images and information
about Canadian art and design. The website currently presents
more than 50,000 images, media clips, and texts by over 800
visual and media artists, graphic designers, and writers,
plus illustrated chronologies of the Isaacs Gallery, ChromaZone,
and the Ontario Society of Artists. The OSA project includes
more than 2700 pages documenting the OSA's annual exhibition
catalogues from 1873 to the present.
